A product liability class action has been filed against the manufacturers of Alucobond PE cladding, the first of what’s expected to be several lawsuits over the combustible cladding, believed to be in the majority of buildings in Australia.

Private education provider Ashley Services may be close to settling a shareholder class action, according to a court order sending the parties in the case to a second mediation session before the end of the year.
The first class action is expected to be filed on behalf of property owners whose buildings are covered with highly combustible polyethylene core cladding.
