Hyundai, Kia class actions transfer bid should precede beauty parade: courts

Two courts have ruled that in competing class actions against Hyundai and Kia over allegedly faulty anti-lock braking systems, a plaintiff’s bid to transfer one of the cases from Victoria to the Federal Court should precede a carriage fight, deeming it the “straightforward” option.

Korean car makers Hyundai and Kia have filed their defences in class actions over alleged engine defects, arguing owners cannot bring claims if their vehicles were repaired and that they are not responsible for any faults said to be caused by their manufacturing partner.

Telstra must give Siemens identity details of potential copyright infringers
