Responding to a class action on behalf of over 250,000 car owners, auto giant Toyota has admitted issues with filters in three of its diesel vehicle models but says drivers who failed to respond to warning lights in their cars could not clam damages for any breaches of quality guarantees.

Insurer QBE claims Opal Tower cracking not ‘major’

QBE Underwriting has defended its decision to deny insurance coverage to the builder of Sydney’s troubled Opal Tower development, claiming the cracking was not “major” and did not cause last year’s Christmas Eve evacuation.

Icon sues insurers for $11M in coverage for Opal Tower saga

Construction group Icon Co has dragged insurers Liberty Mutual Insurance and QBE Underwriting to court for allegedly refusing to provide coverage after the Opal Tower disaster in December last year, which led to thousands of residents being evacuated.
